Friday's trailer rescue

A neighbor called about 8pm to inform me my Kubota was not yet involved. I arrived on the land around 10pm to move the Kubota to my south quarry in case of further fire spread. In inspecting, I found my trailer near my north quarry was also not yet burned but was threatened by fire. I was able to use my Kubota to fell a nearby standing dead tree which was starting to burn and to break up a burning fallen snag next to the trailer; the snag had branches among living trees; both pockets are now some of the only green in the sea of consumed trees by the north quarry. My backhoe further worked to manipulate burning duff to reduce fire enough to get my pickup truck to my trailer and get my trailer out before the tires or deck became involved. Had I known more at the time, I would have liked to have used the Kubota to attack the few active flames that were still present in the area to have potentially saved more trees as the ground fire had predominantly burned through but the trees did not appear to have yet been involved which must have happened after my departure around 1am Saturday.
